About the Firm

Margery M. Thorp, PLLC is a unique law firm catering to individuals, insurance customers, consumers, small businesses owners, and other lawyers.

The firm assists in protecting insurance customers from financial injury by helping them receive fair and equitable treatment from their insurer during the insurer’s handling of their claim.  While consumers who purchase insurance often assume that their insurer is working diligently on their behalf and in their best interest while attempting to settle a claim, unfortunately this is not always the case.  When an insurance company chooses its financial interests over your interests as the insured while handling a claim, the insurer has acted in bad faith and you may be entitled to damages and attorney’s fees under Florida law.

While the firm’s goal is always settlement of a dispute without needing to resort to litigation, Margery M. Thorp, PLLC practices Florida bad faith insurance litigation in both Florida federal and state courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Margery M. Thorp, PLLC also works with other insurance bad faith attorneys and firms and assists with the litigation phase of their bad faith cases.  This includes the researching, preparation and drafting of all types of motions, responses, replies, and memoranda filed in Federal and State Courts during litigation.

In addition to bad faith insurance, Margery M. Thorp, PLLC assists small businesses and individuals with a variety of matters involving risk management, insurance contract review, drafting and review of contracts, lease agreements, purchase-sale agreements, employer-employee agreements, consent and release agreements, and copyright issues.
